Cory McKinsey, PsyD

Hello

My name is Dr. Cory McKinsey. My goal as a psychologist is to allow individuals the space to find deeper connections to themselves and their lives. I help individuals enhance various skills and garner insights into their experience so that they can live more abundant and fulfilling lives. I believe that, with insight and awareness, behavioral changes can occur. I have a passion for working with members of the LGBTQ+ community, adolescents (ages 14+), transitional age youth (ages 16-25), men, and individuals experiencing various life transitions. I also specialize in providing psychological assessment services through empirically supported tests. By using various measures, I can help provide clarity on an individual’s cognitive abilities, personality functioning, and internal strengths and weaknesses.
I am a licensed Clinical Psychologist in the State of California (PSY30615).
Let's talk to see how I can help you.

Professional Journey

I have been working in the mental health field since 2010, with an emphasis on working in community mental health settings. I received my doctorate in clinical psychology from Azusa Pacific University after completing an American Psychological Association accredited internship. Following this experience, I completed two 2-year postdoctoral training programs; one program emphasized depth-oriented psychotherapy, while the other program focused on providing psychological assessment services to children and adolescents. My extensive training in trauma-informed therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness interventions, as well as psychological assessment has prepared me in providing well-rounded care in treatment. It is my goal to join with whomever I work in the therapeutic space to find wholeness and fulfillment in life.
